A new Beaumont Urgent Care center opened March 25, along East Big Beaver Road in Troy.
Beaumont Health and partner WellStreet, an Atlanta-based organization, are planning to have 30 urgent care centers open in Southeast Michigan by the end of 2019, according to a news release from Beaumont.
With the Troy location, there are currently three centers open, including one at 6900 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township and a center in Allen Park.
The next centers set to open include locations at 27810 Grand River in Farmington Hills; 3219 Coolidge Highway in Royal Oak and in Livonia and Grosse Pointe.
“Beaumont is working with WellStreet, a company experienced with running patient-focused urgent care centers. We are eager to serve patients and families in Troy by providing quality care on their terms, with easy access at lower cost,” Bernice Sessa, M.D., medical director of Beaumont Urgent Care, said in the news release.
The urgent care centers provide access to providers and facilities in the Beaumont Network and doctors and nurses at the centers can access Beaumont Network electronic medical records to provide coordinated care.
The centers offer in-house lab, X-ray and fiberglass splinting as well as web check-in. The centers usually offer quick service for minor injuries and illnesses at reduced costs compared to emergency room visits.
The Troy location is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. It is at 2078 E. Big Beaver Road.
