Cecilia Maxwell, PA-C is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating valedictorian from Oakhaven High school, she began her journey at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA to obtain her undergraduate degree. After unforeseen circumstances due to the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, she completed her undergraduate degree with a Bachelors in Biology at the University of Memphis. Cecilia then received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Christian Brothers University. It was through this program that Cecilia’s cohort was the first graduating class of a Physician Assistant program incorporated in Memphis, TN. Prior to joining Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet in 2017, she worked at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS in the emergency department for 2 years. Through her training, Cecilia has experience in various areas of medicine including but is not limited to pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine, family medicine, oncology, etc.
Cecilia is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Other certifications include: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and she is also a certified pharmacy technician.
When Cecilia is not treating patients, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and close friends. Cecilia is passionate about patients receiving equal and quality health care and strives everyday to provide “uncompromising care, one patient at a time,” despite socioeconomic differences.
