When to go to the ER?

Stop! If you or a family member is experiencing a life-threatening illness or injury – such as major head trauma, chest pain, severe abdominal pain, or loss of consciousness – we recommend that you immediately call 911 or go directly to an Emergency Room (ER). See the list below for guidance on what situations require ER treatment over Beaumont Urgent Care.

  • Pregnancy bleeding or complications
  • Life-threatening allergic reactions
  • Severe burns
  • Signs or symptoms of stroke or heart attack
  • Amputation of a body part
  • Near drowning
  • Electrical shock

If you have a chronic medical condition, consult with your primary care physician in advance about when you should visit the Emergency Room.
