Piedmont Urgent Care by WellStreet Acquires Village Medical Associates in Macon

Macon (Feb. 17, 2022) – Piedmont Urgent Care by WellStreet acquired respected urgent care operator Village Medical Associates in Macon. This brings Piedmont Urgent Care by WellStreet’s network to 40 locations throughout Georgia and also expands Piedmont’s network in Macon. Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Piedmont Macon North Hospital joined Piedmont on Aug. 1, 2021.

The new Macon location is located at 2410 Ingleside, and is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Village Medical Associates was an established healthcare leader in the community with experienced physicians and support staff serving the walk-in urgent care needs of patients in the area. “Beaumont Health has been adding new care facilities regularly over the past year, with the newest bring Beaumont Urgent Care, 23100 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.

The Dearborn location allows patients to access facilities in the Beaumont Network quickly for minor injuries and illnesses at a reduced cost compared to an emergency room visit. Services such as an in-house laboratory, X-ray and fiberglass splinting are available.

The new facility, along with many other Beaumont Urgent Care locations, are offering rapid COVID-19 testing, with results in under 20 minutes.

Along with in-person visits to a Beaumont Urgent Care location, virtual visits also are available through a live video chat using a phone, tablet or camera-enabled computer, seven-days-a-week, 365 days a year.

Virtual visits can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of nonemergency medical conditions, allowing a prescription to be sent a patient’s local pharmacy. Virtual visits aren’t meant to replace a primary care provider, but are a good option for some issues, including cold, cough, flu, sore throat, sinus infections, rash, sprains, allergies, vomiting, fevers and headaches.

Beaumont Urgent Care accepts most insurances as well as self-pay options.

A building that sold fresh seafood for decades has a new life — as an urgent care. Beaumont Urgent Care opened June 29 at 309 E. 11 Mile Road in the space formerly occupied by Superior Fish Co.

Geared toward patients with minor injuries or illnesses, the facility offers services such as an on-site laboratory, X-rays and fiberglass splinting.

All Beaumont Urgent Care locations offer COVID-19 testing, including antibody testing. They can also provide exposure management and strategic planning, employee screenings, return-to-work determinations and free employee symptom checker tools for businesses, schools and organizations looking to safely reopen amid the pandemic, according to a Beaumont Urgent Care news release.

The clinic is Beaumont Urgent Care’s second location in the city. The first opened in August 2019 in the Woodward Corners development at 13 Mile and Woodward Avenue.
