For fast, efficient care, services like an in-house laboratory, X-ray and fiberglass splinting also are available.

All Beaumont Urgent Care locations now are offering COVID-19 testing, including antibody testing. In addition, the medical team can provide return-to-work services for businesses, schools, and other organizations looking to safely reopen.

Services include: exposure management/strategic planning, employee screenings, return-to-work determinations and a free symptom checker tool that allows employees to self-screen before each workday.

“Beaumont is working with WellStreet, a company experienced with running patient-focused urgent cares,” says Dr. Bernice Sessa, medical director of Beaumont Urgent Care. “We are eager to serve area patients and families by providing quality care on their terms, with easy access at lower cost.”

Along with in-person visits to a Beaumont urgent care location, virtual visits also are available with immediate access through a live video chat using a phone, tablet, or camera-enabled computer, seven days a week, 365 days a year.”

Beaumont Urgent Care’s Return-to-Work Program Featured in Grosse Pointe News

[Excerpt from Grosse Pointe News article]

“Beaumont Urgent Care is offering a new program through 16 of its clinics in southeast Michigan, including the Grosse Pointe Farms location, which aims to help businesses through the process from a health and safety perspective.

“We know with Michigan, it’s a little bit more delayed than other states, but I know people are so eager and it’s in phases, so we can help those that are starting next week and then develop even more strategies as more companies decide to open up,” said Bernice Sessa, regional medical director for Beaumont Urgent Care.

The program is available for any size or type of business and is individualized to the specific business.

This is incorporated through COVID-19 exposure strategic planning, including the implementation and assessment of a screening process, training of employers and staff for the screening process and personal protective equipment recommendations, as well as appropriate usage.

“We want to make sure the employers consider how best to decrease the spread of COVID and lower the impact in the workplace and so some of these activities can include monitoring and reducing transmission among the employees, mitigate disruption, minimize absenteeism and maintain a safe workplace,” Sessa explained.

The program also includes both COVID-19 and antibody testing. Sessa reported they have a good supply of kits to cover the need.

Antibody Tests Available at Beaumont Urgent Care

[Excerpt from ClickOnDetroit article]

“You had a mystery virus in January or February that matches a lot of the coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms and are now curious if you had it.

Antibody testing is readily available to see if you had the illness.

For example, all Beaumont Urgent Cares are offering the test and you don’t need a prescription. It’s a blood test, not a nose swab like the COVID-19 virus test. The results usually come back in two days.”

Beaumont Urgent Care Offers Telemedicine Appointments & Curbside Screening for Coronavirus Symptoms

[Excerpt from Detroit Free Press article]

“The health system devised a way for its urgent care centers to treat people with coronavirus symptoms — cough, fever, shortness of breath, body aches, loss of smell and taste — and those who are coming for other health problems at the same time, without heightening the risk of exposure to staff and others.

They’re offering telemedicine appointments to people with coronavirus symptoms or the option of being treated in their cars.

“At curbside, we can check a pulse-ox and see what their oxygenation level is,” Sessa said.

Two Beaumont urgent care clinics — one at Woodward and Square Lake roads in Bloomfield Hills and another on Middlebelt Road in Garden City — have been designated to take chest X-rays for patients with COVID-19 symptoms.

“If we feel that the patient needs a chest X-ray, we set it up so they can get a chest X-ray without going to the hospital,” Sessa said. “They can walk into a back door that goes right into the radiology room, get a chest X-ray and go back out and wait in their car for results.

“If we feel during that curbside evaluation or during that virtual visit that somebody actually needs to go to the ER … we actually give them a prescription, telling them take this to the ER so they don’t get stuck in the curbside screening at the ER.”
